Magical Christmas Night

About 2 weeks ago (I can't even believe it's almost been that long!), we had this great idea to take the girls to Magic Kingdom to see Cinderella's castle decorated for Christmas. We usually take them first thing in the morning when the park firsts opens to avoid crazy lines and busy parks. It always works in our favor, but we've never taken them at night. My OCD had to be put aside for one night to "enjoy the moment" while we can before baby boy arrives. I'm very particular about routine, getting the girls to bed at their set times...so for me this was a big deal!

Well....what we experienced and what I really wanted to title this post was Never Go To Disney In December At Night! From the moment we got to the parking lot, it was nuts! I've never ever been to Disney before and dealt with such a large crowd before, so that was all new to me...and overwhelming. We had a few fast passes, but the main thing Kinsley wanted to do was Belle's Enchanted Tales. The wait time was 60 minutes, and while it's cool and all, she usually gets too scared to participate in the interactive show. So we asked her, are you sure you want to do this? It's going to be a long line?? She promised us she would be brave and would be in the show this time, so we waited.for.60.straight.minutes! In the end, it was worth it. Kinsley got to be a pepper shaker in the Belle show and man did she shake it like nobody else could. Outkast would have been proud because she was "shake it like a polaroid pic-shaaaaaa"ing.

By the time we got done with that, it was close to the lighting of the castle so we made our way to the castle to get a good spot. Thankfully we got a spot on the side, with lots of breathing room, because it was NUTS how packed it was! Like, people EVERYWHERE!!! I would have had a panic attack had I been crammed in middle of it all, so I'm very happy with our location for that. The castle lights did NOT disappoint, and seeing it in person is even more magical than pictures can show. They had a show with Elsa and Anna, and Elsa ended up freezing Cinderella's castle and that's how it lit up. It was beautiful!! And Kinsley said "Elsa!! Ohh, Cinderella is going to be mad at you for freezing her castle!" It was cute, and having this memory of taking them will forever be in my heart.

We rode one last ride before heading back home, but getting to the parking lot was just as crazy as being inside the park. The line to ride the monorail was a good 20-30 minute wait. The ferry line was insane...but we didn't have to wait too long for it. By the time we walked back to the car, dealing with two cranky tired kids and being 22 weeks pregnant...I was done. D O N E, done! The girls fell asleep within minutes of leaving the parking lot, and Kyle and I agreed that we can cross this off the list of things to do, and not do again for awhile ;)
