Magical Birthday

For my 30th birthday (and because our Disney passes were expiring), I wanted to take a family trip to Disney to celebrate. Rylan was older now, Kyle was healthier now, Kinsley was happier now...so it seemed like the perfect time to go. We drove up Friday to Kyle's parents, who live about an hour away from Disney, to see them and spend some time there.

Saturday morning we got up at the crack of dawn (literally) to get packed up to go. We arrived to the park around 7:30am, with plenty of time to ride the Monorail before the gates opened at 8. We had the BEST possible spot you could get for parking, and there was hardly anyone there. I thought it was just going to be a less crowded day....little did we know that the park didn't actually open till 9. Once Kyle realized this "minor" oversight and a million eye rolls I gave him, we had PLENTY of time to just sit at the entrance and listen to Kinsley repeatedly ask "can we go in now???". Other than that, the day was so amazing!!! We had a few Fast Passes for things we really wanted to see and do, but were able to do everything we wanted. The girls saw Cinderella, Rapunzel, Elsa, Anna, Ariel and Tinkerbell. We rode all of their favorite rides. Even got a quick swim session in at the hotel pool. Rylan did AMAZING considering she had been up since 5:30am and only had an hour nap all day. It was a long day, but it was the best day ever.

Sunday we went to Animal Kingdom. While the park itself doesn't have as many appealing attractions to a 3 and 1 year old, we had a blast looking at the animals and enjoying a more laid back day. The crowd however...not so fun. And it was hot! Our favorite part were the gorillas, and the babies the had. Another fan favorite was the safari ride and seeing the elephants. Elephants are my favorite. Rylan's favorite part was the petting area, where she could pet and chase sheep and goats around, and attempt to eat goat pellets. Before I had a heat stroke, we ended our day and drove on home. The girls were both asleep almost 5 minutes into the drive home...and were troopers the whole way.

It was the perfect weekend and we needed it!! Now I'm recovering from post Disney vacation and up to my eyeballs in moving boxes. Can I go back to the food courts, made up beds, and endless kid entertainment just steps away from us??
